YMCA Reopening Plan:
A Letter from YMCA Leadership
May 27, 2020
Dear Y Family,
Cowlitz County is in Phase 2 of the Washington State Governor’s reopening plan, the YMCA can reopen in Phase 3.
When we have a firm reopening date, we will announce that date, and then give members a couple of days to come in to activate memberships if necessary, and preview the restrictions, distancing requirements, changes in the schedules, and maximum number of people allowed in each area. These preview days will be held before we begin to actually open the facility. The schedules and restrictions will also be posted on Facebook, our website, and available to be e-mailed upon request.
Face masks will be required, including during the preview days. Face masks will be required in all areas except the pool. For Phase 3, the pool will be on a highly restricted schedule. That schedule will be available as soon as we have a reopening date.
This is a critical time in the transition and transformation of our Y. The YMCA of Southwest Washington has served this community for almost 100 years, and we are now building the platform from which the next several generations will experience community at the Y.
If you need to contact us now, feel free to e-mail the staff at firstname.lastname@example.org. As soon as we have a reopening date, we will also schedule staff to answer phones for membership questions. We miss you and are eagerly waiting to re-open.
Janine Manny, CEO & the YMCA Board of Directors
