GOODTYMES

GOODTYMES

GT - Long Beach 4   The YMCA “Goodtymes Program” is a recreational program designed for those with special needs. It is for teens and adults to give them a place where they can not only have fun doing a wide variety of activities, but it helps teach them life skills such as independence, social skills, fellowship, communication and a general quality of life for their physical and mental well-being! This is their place where they can come learn, have fun and be themselves.
This year round program gives parents much needed breaks they sometimes need!
Started in 1962 by Mrs. Grace Reynolds, this program will continue to provide much needed support to citizens with special needs of our communities. Our trained staff and volunteer take great care in support of each person! Working with those with special needs is a challenge, but the rewards are great! We help them focus on their Ability not disability!!
Our Adult Program is scheduled Saturday evenings which include dances, field trips, and so much more.
Summer programs will vary and schedule will be out by May.
Cost of programs vary, so check schedule for all the information on each event! Scholarships are available on approval through the Membership Department.
For more information and schedule with participant form, contact Lynda Wagner,
Community Development Director or Les Cornwell Program Coordinator at 360-423-4770. Check us out on the web at www.longviewymca.org or on facebook and twitter.
